Us and That Movie

We had such a lovely day in Cortona, it will definitely go down as a big highlight day for both of us.

I am sure we are like most tourists in the fact that we kept trying to recognise parts of the town from the movie "Under The Tuscan Sun", and we found a few.

One thing we did not do was to visit Frances Mayes house. Well actually we did not visit either her real house or the one that they used in the movie as this involved at least 5 kilometres of walking, and in 35+ degrees heat...No Way!!! Not just to get a photo of a house!!

So here are some of the photos we took showing us sitting in places used in the movie, or photos of buildings used in the movie.

So who can remember the scene where Frances goes to see Katherine who is lunching with the nuns, well it is a real restaurant, but it was too crowded for us to get in there.

The one thing we could not find, because it does not exist, is the fountain. This was a disappointment to Lesley who was prepared to take a magnum of champagne and dance around in the fountain just so we could get the photo!!! I think she was upset at missing out on having a good looking Italian guy carry her out of the fountain!!! Apparently, the fountain was built just for the movie!
