A relaxing day in Piazza della Duomo

After such a busy day yesterday we decided to take it easy and find somewhere shady and relax away from the heat. We took a short walk and decided we would sit and have something to eat in one of the eating places in Piazza della Duomo.

A few nice eating places to choose from

Well, after eating nothing but Italian food since we have been here I think we were both craving something different. We happily settled for a little cafe that was offering different food to the rest, so for lunch we each tucked into a good sized Burger and a Beer..don't worry it was freshly made and had nothing to do with that famous burger joint that can be found everywhere....we have not stooped that low!

While eating our lunch we could hear some really good live music coming from just around the corner, it just added to the atmosphere of sitting in the shade, next to the Duomo, eating lunch..bliss.

After lunch we had to follow the music and see what was going on. To our surprise it was three buskers who had drawn in quite a big crowd by now. Between them they were playing a guitar, a voilin, and a cello, and they sounded great.

The Romdraculas trio

These guys were playing everything from Classical, to Jazz, and everything else you could imagine, and they were good! We sat on one of the large stone seats and enjoyed the music for quite a while and with quite a lot of other people, all getting into what this trio were playing.

Taking fancy photos of the Duomo while listening to music

Before we headed back home Lesley had purchased a copy of their CD they had for sell, she had to get in quick as everyone was buying them.

Another enjoyable day in Florence, life is good.
