Revisiting Some Favourites

Today we went back to a few our our favourite spots, like the lovely little cafe we like to eat at, which we finally found out is called Baque Cafe.... The cafe is in a building on the edge of Plaza de Gipozkoa, which has a lovely park in the middle. Right now the park is being setup for Christmas with lights, and a number of scenes to do with the birth of Jesus and local Christmas customs.

But we were hungry and thinking about lunch so it was off to Atari, our favourite Pintxos bar in the old town.

Lunch Time At Atari

We ordered a variety of Pintchos we have never tried before, plus a few small plates....we also came across the Basque vesion of a shandy...60% beer and 40% lemon...very nice!

Walking back we went through Plaza de la Constitution, which we have read used to be the old bull ring....not sure if this is true or not.....apparently the buildings with lots of doors and numbers above them were the old bull ring box seats!

There are so many places to eat in San Sebastián and of varying sizes...we have oticed some around that are basically a hole in the wall...enough room inside for the barman, drinks, and that is it, all of the patrons stand/sit outside.

We would have to say that San Sebastián has been one of the best places we have visited and would definitely come back gven half a chance......a fantastic place.
