Well, we arrived in Granada safe and well after driving through thousands of never ending acres of Olive trees...unbelievable......who the heck do they get in to pick this lot?
Endless Olive Trees |
The journey was quite uneventful except for the last kilometre when the GPS just could not get us near the hotel. Lesley got sick of me swearing at the GPS and suggested that we go against its directions, so we did, and we got there quite easily....bloody computers!
We have had one negative from the trip, when we unpacked in Granada we discoved we had left our new winter coats behind in the hotel in Cordoba.....and up to now have had no replies to our emails to them. Lucky it is not too cold here, and our next destination is Seville, but we do have Paris in a weeks time, that could be very cold!
Anyway, as soon as we were settled into our room we went out to discover what is around us. We headed in the direction of the older part of town, Albayzin, here they have maintained the narrow winding streets of the medieval Moorish past.
Iglesia de San Pedro y San Pablo |
The Albayzin area is just a few hundred metres down the road and we will be having a good look around this area over the next few days (we are here 3 nights). We just walked into the bottom section of this part of town and it is really beautiful with all of the old buildings built up beside the small river that runs through here.
Walking Into The Albayzin Area |
On one side of the small road into Albayzin is the Alhambra, a very large place and fortress comnplex that overlooks Granada, hopefuly we will get to see this whule we are here.
We walked into a big a large open area called Paseo Del Padre Manjon, which is full of restaurants and buskers ...... there is a really great atmosphere here....so we stopped here for a late luncha few relaxing drinks.

No Lesley Is Not Playing With Her Food! |
So we are both tired, we always are on travel days, we may pop out for a snack and a drink before heading off for an early night.
