Nicole, our English host at our little gite, told us that today there is a fantastic market on in the nearby town of Issigeac....only a short 25 minute drive away. Just to check what he definition of a good market was we told her about our experience at Coussac-Bonneval with the two food vans, she laughed and guaranteed that we would be impressed with this one, so off we went.
One thing that Nicola had not mentioned was that Issigeac was in fact a beautiful example of a French medieval village...it was fantastic. We actually spent close to four hours wandering around the market and the town itself, it was so picturesque.

The Square |
The market was definitely one of the best we have been to since we have been in Europe, there was so much local produce, wine, beer, food.....it was great. The market was not only in the main square, but it alsoweaved through most of the streets as well.

We then found a great stall where the guy was selling food being prepared in great big pans...the selection was great....Lesley purchased Slow Cooked Beef Cheeks (that's tomorrows dinner) and a lovely piece of freshly cooked Ham (tonights dinner).....we were all set.
We then did some wine tasting and purchased a few local wines that will get us through the next few days.
We then slowly made our way back to the car, wandering down every lane way that we came across...every turn was a new photo, what a great place.
