Lauzerte, just like Pujols, is a hilltop village, so we got a great view of it well before we arrived in the town.

The Walls Around Lauzerte |
It was now after midday so we decided no matter what we would find a place to eat for lunch.
Lauzerte is another of these medieval hilltop French villages, and you can see similarities between all of them, especially the way the main squares are designed and built.

Looking Into The Square |
However, Lauzerte has a modern twist in one corner of the square...look carefully at the photo below.....the floor of the square has been lifted as if someone has been looking under it (in front of the green doors).

No Dirt Under There |
The nice thing about Lauzerte was that it was lunch time, so there were a few people around sitting down having something to eat, so it wasn't deserted!

So Much Attractive History |
We picked a place for lunch that was serving like French Tapas....they advertised "Small Plates" at just a couple of Euros each. So we had a few plates, and some local white wine all for the princely sum of just 15 eauros, what a tasty bargain that was.

Lunch |
After lunch we explored more of the village.

Time to head off again, this time to the village of Auvillar.
