The Hanging Gardens Of Marqueyssac

We all had a good sleep in this morning, after a few late nights I think everyone needed to catch up on some much needed "kip" time.

The idea today was to have an easy day, just visit one place! So we headed into Sarlat for our morning coffee and to work out where we were going to go to. After looking through a few brochures we all agreed that the nearby Hanging Gardens Of Marqueyssac sounded and looked great....so off we went.

The gardens are on top of a large hill, if I remember right, they are 190 metres above the Dordogne River...the gardens themselves are beautiful and so very well manicured. They state that they have over 5 kilometres of walking paths....I think we covered all of them!!

Further around the gardens we found ourselves in wonderful woodlands with kilometres of pathways.

All around the gardens there are amazing views over the surrounding counrtyside and over to a number of villages and chateau's that we have either visited, or plan to visit.

After we walked around the gardens we stopped at the Tea Rooms where Lesley and myself both had a delicious Rabbit Terrine...I think Lesley will be making numerous terrines once we get home....yum!

As the bad weather moved in we headed back to Sarlat.

We are all planning to go out on the town for a nice meal tonight before Richard and Jackie head off back home tomorrow.
